More Siding!

This past Sunday we worked on even more siding on the back of the house.

As we were about to head out, Josh called up to say he would be there, which allowed Jean to stay home with Lucas most of the day.

She related Saturday's installation modifications to me: blind nailing on the top of the siding planks, double-checking the1 1/4" overlap that Bob drew while cutting, etc.

Once on site, we hoisted up pieces for a second level of scaffolding and worked around the windows. Josh and I measured and communicated to Bob what we needed. He cut the pieces and handed them up for us to nail.

My mom stopped by to take lunch orders, and brought us Wendy's for sustenance.

Kathy and Jean took turns watching Lucas, each being out on site for a few hours that day. Jean managed to pull out some more shale rocks that might eventually be suitable for our hearth.

Bob, Josh and I finished out the entire full-height rear wall (1 of 5), including fabricating pieces for the trim (facia), and eaves. Our trim board is only 5 inches in width and we need at least 6 3/4" due to our flashing overlap, so we'll need to return it and get new stuff, but we'll probably be doing framing this next weekend, so there's no rush...

We'll be framing the loft, and time provided, finishing the subfloor and doing the stairs. Saturday, we'll be absent for lunch in the middle of the day, but will be there morning and afternoon. Sunday, though, we'll be there all day if anyone can help us finish up the framing. Both days we can guarantee some hammering for those of you that crave that sort of thing. :)
