Apple Picking Fall 2004

This past weekend we visited Jean’s sister Kate, her husband Kip and their two kids, Alexander and Zeke. They live up in Brighton, a suburb of Boston.
Saturday we went apple picking and got some excellent new-england apples. That night we ate some incredible Korean food from the Seoul Kitchen and made an apple pie, which we ate for breakfast the next morning.
Sunday we went to the Lord of the Rings exhibit at the science museum (the only North American stop for that exhibit) and saw loads of incredible stuff (Geeks, eat your heart out) including costumery, armoury (and got to hold Gandalf’s sword!!!), and special effects works. Sweet!
Then we made another apple pie.
We flew back Monday morning, all safe and sound.

DomeStock 2004

Our Dome-warming party was a great success! Thanks so much to the folks who stopped by and had a burger. And thanks for all the food!
We played volley ball, drank great beer (if I do say so myself) and sat around the bonfire late into the night, roasting marshmellows.
Lucy (our greedy dog) even had a great time, eating two pounds of raw hamburger meat 😛
See you next year for more summer parties!

Party Preparations

It’s been a crazy weekend, getting ready for Domestock! Jean and I worked our darndest to get the garden plot ready, trees moved, and lawn at least seeded.
We’ll have no deck, unfortunately, as that won’t be begun until the 13th, but we’ll still have croquet, volleyball, a bonfire, and food and drink of course.
See you all there!
